How do we develop your films at the lab?

FILM PROCESSING
STEP BY STEP

Do you often ask you the question how your favorite filmlab processes your precious film rolls? Stay put, we're revealing the analog journey they go through before returning to your hands! Let's go!

STEP 1: LEADER EXTRACTING

This step involves extracting the film leader from its cartridge using a piece of tape.
Using this kind of machine allows us to save time, given the large number of films we process daily.
We stick the first Twin Check on the leader and the second on the pouch, so we know which film belongs to which pouch.

STEP 2: ATTACHING TO A LEADER CARD

Once the film leader is extracted, we cut it off and tape the beginning of the negative onto a "leader card"
a transparent card that allows two films to be sent for development simultaneously.

STEP 3: FILM PROCESSING

We slide the leader card into the processor, which will automatically detach the cartridges.
The films then pass through several baths before emerging freshly developed!
Here we perform five types of development: C-41, B&W, E6, ECN-2, and manual development.

STEP 4: SCANNING + PRINTING

Depending on your preferences or needs, we offer several types of scans:
standard scan, HD scan, Super HD, or Ultra HD, which we send to you via a download link.
We print your photos in Reading Prints format, 10x15 or 13x19, in matte or glossy, with or without borders.

STEP 5: QUALITY CONTROL, CUTTING, AND PACKAGING

After a meticulous inspection of your work, your negatives are cut according to your choice:
in groups of 4, 6, or left in strips. Your carefully prepared pouch is about to be finalized!

STEP 6: WORK PICKUP

This is your favorite step (after receiving your scans!).
It's the moment when we inform you that your work is available for pickup in-store
or has been delivered to your mailbox!
